EXCEL Program Staff

The EXCEL program is a fee-for-service recreational program run by the Halifax Regional Centre for Education. (See Section 2). There are two different positions available: Group Leader and Program Team Leader.

Group Leader

Job requirements:

  • Must have a minimum of one year's experience in the child care field.
  • Have knowledge of recreational programming.
  • Must have strong communication skills.
  • Have ability to work as part of a team.
  • Must have High School Completion Certificate or equivalent.
  • Must have valid Emergency Level First Aid/CPR Certificate Program.

Team Leader

Job requirements:

  • Must have supervisory skills for both staffing and children.
  • Must be able to motivate and work well with a team of staff.
  • Must be able to develop and participate in the delivery of creative core programming.
  • Must have Early Childhood Education diploma or University background in child studies, recreation or related experience in professional child care field.
  • Must have valid First Aid/CPR Certification.

 

Educational Program Assistant
